ANSJI to Host Second Annual Justice Symposium on June 13th
The African Nova Scotian Justice Institute (ANSJI) is proud to announce its Second Annual Justice Symposium, taking place on Friday, June 13, 2025, in Halifax. This year’s theme, “Violence in the Black Community,” with a dual focus on gender-based violence and gun violence, brings a critical focus to the complex and intersecting forms of violence disproportionately affecting Black Nova Scotian communities.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: ANSJI INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Interim Executive Director oversees the organization according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors. They are an ambassador of the goals and vision of ANSJI, promoting the rights of African Nova Scotians as a distinct people and other people of African Ancestry.

Opposition leaders say it's disgraceful that the Nova Scotia government is refusing to release the recommendations of a report it received on environmental racism.
Justice Minister Becky Druhan is also refusing to say if she's even read those recommendations.
