Executive Assistant
ANSJI is currently seeking an Executive Administrative Assistant for the African Nova Scotian Justice Institute (ANSJI). The Executive Administrative Assistant will provide direct support to the Executive Director and support day-to-day office administration, meetings, and gatherings. The Executive Administrative Assistant will report directly to the Executive Director and will support the work of the senior management team generally.
Communications Officer
The Communications Officer is responsible for growing awareness of the African Nova Scotian Justice Institute and its programs and services and advancing its vision, mission and values by developing and executing effective communication strategies, media campaigns, advancing our web presence, and performing social media activities.
Social Worker (BSW)- 2 Positions
The Social Worker will be part of the Forensic Assessment and Treatment Team and will assist with the production of Impact of Race and Culture Assessments (IRCAs). The social worker will also provide a wide range of services which may include screening, assessment, brief intervention, case management/navigation, individual and group treatment, and delivery of psychoeducational groups.
Clinician (Masters)
The Clinician will carry out Impact of Race and Cultural Assessments (IRCAs) while working with the Director of the Forensic Assessment and Treatment Unit to strategically advocate for increased access to mental health services for African Nova Scotians navigating the justice system. Training will be provided to the successful individual to develop the knowledge and skills required to complete IRCA’s.
Justice Navigator (HRM)- 2 Positions
A justice navigator is a person who assists individuals in navigating through the justice system. This position will support people who are involved with the law or courts, as well as those facing socio-economic, family conflict, crisis intervention support, mental health, and addiction concerns that may lead to justice system involvement.
Justice Navigator: Colchester County – Truro
As part of a pilot program based in Truro, the Justice Navigator (the Navigator) position will support community members involved with all areas of the law or courts, as well as those facing socio-economic, family conflict, mental health, and addiction concerns that may lead to justice system involvement.
