Justice Navigator and Court Services
Matthew Dixon is a justice navigator, counsellor-in-training, and community advocate whose work bridges justice, housing, and mental health. At the African Nova Scotian Justice Institute, he supports justice-involved individuals and families through culturally responsive navigation.
Matthew co-chairs the African Nova Scotian Coordinated Justice Network, advancing policy and community-driven solutions to reduce systemic barriers. Pursuing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, he specializes in trauma-informed, culturally grounded counselling.
Alongside his advocacy, Matthew runs Matt Hues Photography, amplifying community stories through visual art. His work reflects collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to building equitable systems.
